In contribution to my final project of the TETHYS is the outcome of collaboration between four students coming from diverse backgrounds and fields — GENESEA — a project that has been built from nothing in order to overcome future trends and patterns.
With very few restrictions, our group was given the opportunity to roam free with regards to our imagination. The only factor we had to take into consideration was the length overall — an 80ft sailing yacht that functioned.

TETHYS brings the ideology of motor yachts within sailing yachts. We noticed that the audience for sailing yachts is saturated towards those who have experience sailing and have most likely been raised within the sport.
Our goal was to incorporate elements of a more diverse exterior design that diversifies the vessel, along with making it more comfortable and luxurious onboard. Having more outdoor lounging space, high quality materials and incredible ease of use — with these elements we believe that we will broaden the audience and bring the attention of more people to appreciate the art of sailing.
An 80ft sailing yacht built from nothing. Can we predict the trend, and most importantly, can we create a vessel that embodies all of the group's diverse skillsets and understanding of what yachting means to them?
